The Full Your Golf Tour Draft Results

The Your Golf Tour Draft results have officially been revealed, with captains Wesley, George, Grant and Brad picking their teams for the entire first season of the tour ahead of the first event at Pursell Farms. As expected the draft followed a reverse snake order, meaning Wesley had the first pick in Rounds 1 and 3 and last pick in Round 2, and Grant had the exact opposite. Below is how it all went down.

Round One

Pick #1 (Wesley Bryan) – Ryan Ruffels

Ruffels was a no-brainer as the first pick, fresh off a PGA performance in which he led the way partway through the second round.

Pick #2 (George Bryan) – Luke Toomey

A little bit of benevolence here from George? Sean Wash seemed the likely second pick, but Dalke made no secret of his desire to draft his now former Good Good colleague, and lo and behold he slipped to three. Having said that, Tooms is not exactly a slouch.

Pick #3 (Brad Dalke) – Sean Walsh

Dalke got his pick with Sean Walsh, with whom he has shared a whole lot of YouTube screen time. Walsh also happens to be one of the best players on the board, so this is a great pick at #3.

Pick #4 (Grant Horvat) – Luke Kwon

Arranging the four Kiwi boys into a cohesive order was never going to be an easy task, but as we tipped in last week’s Your Golf Tour Phantom Draft, after Tooms went first out of the group, Kwon was the next to be taken with Horvat’s first pick.

Round Two

Pick #5 (Grant Horvat) – Sam Heung Min

This was the first remotely major divergence from our Phantom Draft, with Sam Heung Min leapfrogging Taco into the highly coveted position of the third best golfer from New Zealand on Your Golf Tour. This pick made Grant the first with two of those boys on his team – whether that will be a blessing or a curse over the course of the season remains to be seen.

Pick #6 (Brad Dalke) Peter Finch

It always seemed likely that Finch would be somewhere around the mid-section of the draft – he’s a better player than the bottom few but not at the level of Ruffels, Walsh and co. Another great pick for Dalke though, who gets a guy who just barely missed British Open Final Qualifying last week.

Pick #7 (George Bryan) – Taco Golf

Taco could easily have gone higher than this – the Kiwi crew are all really good but few would probably have him as the worst of the bunch. Alas, here he was at pick #7 and George took full advantage.

Pick #8 (Wesley Bryan) Micah Morris

With the final pick of the second round, Wes went for Micah Morris – and yes, if you’ve been kind enough to follow along, that means we nailed in which round each player would be drafted in our Mock Draft, albeit in the completely wrong order. Micah should be a particularly handy addition for the scramble events courtesy of his ability to absolutely stripe the ball.

Round Three

Pick #9 (Wesley Bryan) – Roger Steele

Given the credentials of the rest of the players in the draft, Roger Steele arguably looked the most likely bottom pick on the board, but as we know Wesley loves to be different. As the captain mentioned when making this pick, this gives him the biggest hitting team on tour, which could be a huge advantage in some formats.

Pick #10 (George Bryan) – Josh Kelley

The final few players probably weren’t all that easy to separate, with Kelley and Taylor not as well known in the competitive space. George opted for Mr. Holein1TrickShots himself, Josh Kelley, another pick which enabled Dalke to build up his Good Good-centric team.

Pick #11 (Brad Dalke) – Garrett Clark

Though Dalke is no longer a part of Good Good having made the decision to leave the brand last week, he was still a member at the time of the draft and regardless, it would have been awkward to say the least had he skipped over his former leader with the second last pick. Including Brad, this team consists of three Good Good or former Good Good members, with Finch the only exception.

Pick #12 (Grant Horvat) – Chance Taylor

Someone had to be last, didn’t they? Chance Taylor didn’t set the world on fire when he played at the Q at Myrtle Beach a couple of months ago with many of these guys, but he is very talented, and his camo outfits and southern drawl are still more than capable of making a big impact.
