LeBron James x Bob Does Sports Collab Announced
LeBron James has achieved plenty in his life. He’s played close to 2,000 games in the NBA, scored more points than anyone else in league history and counting, and won four championships across three different cities. He’s opened a school for at-risk children. Fathered three of his own, one of whom he now shares an NBA floor with. But at the ripe old age of 41, LeBron’s crowning achievement is set to drop at 1pm Eastern Time on Thursday, April 2, 2026.
One of the greatest of all time is officially teaming up with Bob Does Sports.
Rumours about this collaboration have been doing the rounds for some time, ever since LeBron himself declared his love for YouTube Golf in a post-match interview that was supposed to be about Keyonte George’s All-Star eligibility late last year. Since then he’s been steadily commenting on videos by all manner of content creators like a high-schooler trying to flirt, and wouldn’t you know it, it’s worked.
It's seemed like only a matter of time before LeBron made it onto the BDS channel. Appearing on the Fore Play podcast just last week, the guys were asked about exactly what was going on between them and the kid from Akron. Bob held his cards close to his chest, stopping short of explicitly confirming LeBron’s impending appearance and instead simply saying that they were ‘working on it’, something we now know was a flat out lie.
But over the past couple of days, they have put out consecutive posts featuring LeBron and, more specifically, the BDS crew sitting courtside at a Lakers game, so clearly something was going on. The flirting reached its zenith in that video, with LeBron directing a post-dunk celebration at the boys, and fortunately the announcement followed soon after because the tension was all getting a bit too much.
Unsurprisingly it’s been met with great excitement from the Bob Does Sports community, who are more accustomed to collaborations with fellow YouTube Golfers and the occasional tour pro. That’s not to sneeze at appearances from the likes of Xander Schauffele or Max Homa, the latter of whom was responsible for one of the better YouTube videos in history, but it’s safe to say that LeBron James is the biggest fish Bobby Berger has managed to reel in by some margin.
It is, of course, worth noting that today is April the 1st, which has invariably led to some grouchy online comments about how we have all collectively been sucked in yada yada yada. But the preview videos speak for themselves. AI might have advanced to the point where separating fact from fiction is becoming increasingly difficult, but as seen below, the clips BDS have uploaded unequivocally show LeBron, on a golf course, with Bobby Berger, Fat Perez and Joey Cold Cuts. It’s happening.
So just what can we expect from the video? As we know, LeBron is quite good at sport, but he’s a newcomer to the game of golf and the swing videos he has uploaded throughout his brief tenure as a golfer don’t inspire a great deal of confidence in his game. But as we all know, golf ability is not exactly a requirement on Bob Does Sports, and more important will be whether he can go toe-to-toe with the collective motor mouths of Bob and Joey. Who knows what format the video will take on, but realistically, who cares – it’s safe to say that as a community, the YouTube Golf world is going to be more interested in watching Joey lose his cool as he snap hooks a third consecutive tee shot into the trees in front of the biggest name in sports than the outcome of an ambrose match.
We’ve seen some big-name cameos on YouTube Golf over the past couple of years, with Bryson DeChambeau responsible for plenty of them – from Steph Curry to Carlos Alcaraz to Happy Gilmore himself. But has there ever been a bigger name that LeBron James grace our YouTube channels? Probably – the current president of the United States literally did the Break 50 challenge with Bryson – but I’ve no qualms with letting our excitement get the better of us and proclaim this the biggest.
LeBron and Bobby Berger have been doing a merry little courting dance for many months now, with rumours and innuendo about their partnership abounding across all corners of the internet. Given LeBron is currently occupied with attempting to secure the three seed in the NBA’s Western Conference, a safe assumption would have been that we would have to wait until the off-season for any sort of collaboration, but unless we’re all the naïve victims of a sick April Fool’s joke, that wait is over. At long last, tomorrow at 1pm Eastern, we will see them join forces.
