This Week in YouTube Golf

Another week in the books, and there was a bit going on in the YouTube Golf world throughout it. Following the announcement of Your Golf Tour, we had numerous major videos released over the past seven days, including the return of one of our favourite series at YTGT. Elsewhere, one of the biggest names in world sport – and actually just the world in general – was announced as a YouTube Golf debutant in a video that will be released by the time you read these exact words that you are reading right now.

This Week’s Videos

Plenty of new videos have dropped across the major YTG channels over the past week; check out a brief rundown of them all below.

Grant Horvat – The Major Cut @ Torrey Pines

One of the best series in YouTube Golf, the Major Cut returned for its third series this week at the majestic Torrey Pines, where the US Open was held in 2021. As usual this video ticked many of our rankings boxes – a great course, very good golfers, an excellent format, good chemistry among the creators – making for a thoroughly enjoyable watch.

Bryan Bros – Can We Make Major Cut @ Torrey Pines

Part 2 of the inaugural Major Cut episode of season 3 was released this week, as always, on the Bryan Bros channel, with the three officially either making or missing the US Open cut in this video.

Bob Does Sports – Bobby Fairways and Joey Cold Cuts vs Grant Horvat

Grant Horvat was everywhere this week, also making an appearance on BDS with Bobby and Joey in a little 50-minute video – their last before officially welcoming LeBron James to their channel.

Bob Does Sports – The Match: Bobby Fairways Vs Joey Cold Cuts (18 Holes)

It was also a busy week for Bob Does Sports, who managed to squeeze out two videos to go with their LBJ announcement. In this one, Bobby and Joey go head to head in, as one would expect, a video punctuated by banter far more so than golf quality.

Bryson DeChambeau – Can I Break This Legendary Course Record? (Masters Edition)

With the Masters just a week ago, Bryson made a timely release of his attempt to break the course record at Texarkena Country Club, sometimes referred to as Little Augusta – at least according to Bryson’s video description.

Rick Shiels – I play Golf in America with Crazy ILLEGAL Clubs!

More than any other major content creators, Rick Shiels is still prone to the not-so-occasional clickbait-y headline, and this is a good example. Just a little 15-minute release for Rick here and certainly not the most exciting video released all week.

🚨 Breaking News Alert – LeBron James 🚨

LeBron is officially a YouTube Golfer

LeBron’s illustrious NBA career is winding towards its close, and there are no doubt all manner of things the 41-year-old will be planning on doing during his well-earned retirement years. A year ago, few would have guessed that YouTube Golf would be one of them, but who knows – perhaps this is the start of the King’s second glittering sporting career.

Let’s rewind a little. LeBron has only begun dipping his toe into golf relatively recently, no doubt recognising, like many of us, that his dwindling physical abilities will ultimately render him incapable of enjoying most other sports. Of course, LeBron’s physical abilities have a lot further to dwindle than most of us, but regardless, he’s made clear his interest first in golf, then in YouTube Golf, and wouldn’t you know it he’s made his way onto a Bob Does Sports video.

The video dropped at 1pm Eastern Time on the 2nd of April, literally during the writing of this article, and can be watched right here. Keep an eye out on our video rankings page to see how it ranks on our key metrics, and where it slots in relative to other well-known videos by both Bob Does Sports and other major YouTube Golfers.

LeBron’s appearance on Bob Does Sports shared this week’s YouTube Golf headlines with Grant Horvat and the Bryan Bros, who after hogging them last week with the announcement of Your Golf Tour, again featured prominently courtesy of the return of the Major Cut at Torrey Pines. Keep an eye out for our rankings of the aforementioned major videos from the week, and get real-time alerts when new videos drop moving forward on our X page.
