Paige Renee Spiranac. One of golf’s original glamour girls. With more social media followers than every single pro golfer on the planet, it’s safe to say that she knows how to turn heads. Boasting a handicap well into the plus range, Paige led her team all the way to the final at the inaugural Internet Invitational – and with a hefty dose of controversy along the way. Can she go one better in 2026?
Why is Paige Spiranac famous?
Well, a couple of reasons. But I jest – while Paige’s appearance is clearly a major part of her brand, it’s not as though she just had to slip into a tight shirt and 11 million followers immediately appeared.
Her rise to social media fame arguably began when she was mentioned by some sort of online community called ‘total frat move’ in 2015. A year later she was on the cover of Golf Digest, and the rest is history. But far from simply stumbling into the position in which she now finds herself, Paige’s empire has been the product of a huge amount of work and business acumen. She does a lot of the stuff that’s made her famous on her own, including scripting and editing her own video, hosting her own podcast, understanding social media algorithms to a tee.
Someone in Paige’s position will always have naysayers, and she has long been and probably long will be the subject of plenty of vitriol from guys who probably live in their mum’s basement. But while those who call her out for using her physical attributes to gain followers, she’s not exactly the only good-looking female golfer – but she is the only one who has reached her levels of fame.
MyGolfSpy perhaps put it best when summarising Paige’s standing in the world of golf:
“There would be no business without her physical attributes—but there would also be no business without her work ethic and ability to pull on the right strings to influence her audience.”
What can we expect from Paige at the Internet Invitational?
For a number of reasons, Paige will no doubt be one of the most prominent personalities at the Internet Invitational. Aside from the fact that she has over 11 million followers combined across the major social media platforms, Paige is far from camera-shy, very competitive – as she showed in last year’s Internet Invitational – and a really good golfer. She won’t be shy in putting forward her opinions in regards to team structure.
She’ll also be a relatively high pick and a very handy player for whichever team/s she ends up on. With a handicap pushing +3 or so, there will be a few better players out there than Paige, but not that many. The powers that be will no doubt be hoping that she makes it reasonably far into the event, because there is no denying the pulling power of Paige Spiranac.
