Fat Perez

Fat Perez. The man who gives Bob Does Sports some semblance of golfing credibility. Easily the best player on the channel, FP plays off around a scratch handicap and exudes a demeanour which is about as laidback as Joey Cold Cuts is psychotic.

Why is Fat Perez famous?

It all started with an appearance on Bobby Berger’s Zoom Happy Hours during the pandemic. FP, back then known as Nick Stubbe, made an appearance from the office in which he worked as an accountant, acquitted himself pretty well, and next thing he was playing at Pinehurst with Bob.

Fat Perez, known for his likeness to golfer Pat Perez, subsequently left his reliable office job to join the YouTube golf bandwagon – a decision you could say was a risk, to say the least. But given his job now entails talking shit and playing golf instead of crunching numbers at a desk, and no doubt earns him a substantially better income, it’s safe to say that it paid off.

What can we expect from Fat Perez at the Internet Invitational?

Fat Perez is a very well-liked figure among all walks of YouTube golf. As a member of Bob Does Sports he is clearly accustomed to dealing with the out-there characters so prevalent on Barstool and, well, Bob Does Sports, but he himself is a lot more laidback and down-to-earth, and is equally comfortable among the less frivolous contingent of the YouTube community.

FP usually plays off around scratch and potentially even better now – he’s got a beautiful wedge and short game but hasn’t historically had a lot of length off the tee, which he himself has put down to weight. But he’s dropped a whole lot of that over the past year and has made mention of how much better he’s swinging the club as a result. He’ll be a popular addition to whichever teams he finds himself on both for his game and his personality.
