This Week in YouTube Golf

It was a reasonably quiet week on the YouTube Golf front, with the golfing community instead focused on that professional tour they do over in the USA and, more specifically, that fancy tournament at that fancy course. Still, plenty of videos dropped – a number of which continued this new-fangled trend of playing against internet trolls, haters, dickheads, or whatever you want to call them. A couple of titbits of news also dropped about the 2026 Internet Invitational, including confirmation of one unexpected participant and discussion about another high-profile name.

This Week’s Videos

From hater series to pro tournaments, take a look at the videos that dropped on the major YouTube Golf channels over the past week.

Grant Horvat – The 2-Man Pro Tournament (Electric)

Horvat and the Bryan Bros might as well be one channel at this point. They put out another collaboration this week along with The Lads (Jason Day’s channel), playing a little three-team, two-person match, with Wes Bryan, Grant and Jason each drafting one other pro to their team. This video shows the first nine holes, a video unsurprisingly punctuated by very high-quality golf.

Bryan Bros – The 2-Man All Pro Tournament (Part 2)

As you can probably guess, this video is an extension of the above, showing the final nine holes from the 2-man tournament.

Bob Does Sports – This Hater Crossed The Line (HEATED)

These hater videos are getting more and more popular on YouTube Golf, rewarding online vitriol with an appearance on major YTG channels. It’s safe to say that they have been met with a mixed reaction, and this one, pitting Joey against some guy called Moose, is no different.

Fore Play Golf – This Internet Troll Did Not Back Down

More hater content, this time from the guys at Barstool. Fore Play Golf has been in this business for a while, with this the return of the series which pits Riggs against some random from the internet for a third season.

GM Golf – Restarting My Golf Career with ONLY $100

Where channels like the Bryan Bros, Horvat and Peter Finch stick to content which focuses on the golf, Garrett McNamara has no qualms putting an obscure twist on things to create what some might call clickbait-type headlines. So what the hell does this one actually mean? Basically, at the beginning of the episode Garrett buys everything he needs for a round – clubs, balls, clothes etc – for under $100. Then he plays golf.

Bob Does Sports – He MELTED Down During Our Stroke Play Challenge

A return to normal here for the BDS crew, with just the regulars playing in this one. The three of them compete as a team trying to beat a relatively arbitrary score, but as always it’s not the stakes that make this an entertaining video. Three guesses for who’s MELTDOWN the title of the video is referring to.

Peter Finch – Can I BREAK PAR at Harbour Town?

Our silly little X feed missed this one initially, but Finchy released a video earlier in the week as part of his break par series. Harbour Town is, incidentally, the course where Wes Bryan won his one and only PGA Tour event nearly a decade ago.

Rumours and Innuendo

The rumours and innuendo of the week were punctuated by Barstool Sports owner Dave Portnoy discussing potential – and confirmed – attendees at the second edition of the Internet Invitational. Speaking on Wake Up Barstool, Barstool Sports’ daily show, Portnoy confirmed that mixed martial artist Justin Gaethje is a confirmed competitor in this year’s edition of the most popular YouTube event in history – not someone most people would have had on their bingo card to be picked by Portnoy and co.

Portnoy also discussed the potential presence of LeBron James at the event in the wake of the four-time MVP’s appearance on Bob Does Sports. It’s safe to say at this point it seems like a long shot, particularly given that Portnoy has in the past stated “I fucking hate LeBron James. I fucking hate his guts,” but stranger things have probably happened. That was a while ago though, and when discussing the topic more recently he showed a little more interest in the King, saying he would ‘love’ to have LeBron at the event. It still seems wildly unlikely, but according to Big Cat – a fellow Barstool Sports bigwig – it’s gone from ‘impossible’ to ‘less than 1%’, so that’s something.
